I loved this scene from Quadrophenia as Jimmy is taken to the very edge, but decides to come of age and ditch the Mods. A great retro British movie set in 1964's London and Brighton.
All through the movie, Jimmy is a young lad searching for something. His view of the world is distorted, like many young people and he is struggling to find himself. First he chases silly dreams and ends up in a dark place when he thinks he has finally reached some sort of pinnacle of achievement with fair lady and a heroic roll model to stand beside.
Its like 'Be careful what you wish for' In Jimmy's case this is so. Sometimes dreams and heroes are not what they seem.
