Ancient ruins seen from space
These are some of the world's most famous ancient ruins - as seen from space. Machu Picchu, the Pyramids of Giza and the UK's Stonehenge all appear in the high-flying collection. They were captured by the Ikonos observation satellite, which launched in 1999. Here, the pyramids at Giza in Egypt are pictured.
