This report left me feeling a little cold. My Mother and Aunt were evacuated to a Catholic Convent from London during the War. Their stories of the war years inside the convent were pretty grim and it left a lasting impression. Needless to say, they are disillusioned Christians these days. Society of yesterday was very twisted and when I hear some of the older people say the familiar old cliches like:
"It would not have happened in my day."
"No it may not have because it was a damn sight bloody worse."
This story leaves me feeling cold. The Church as a lot to answer for - religion as a lot to answer for.
